Mullinavat 5-9    St. Lachtains 1-8

Mullinavat are the Kilkenny senior camogie champions for 2012 following a brilliant display against reigning champions Freshford. In the opening quarter our girls were a little unsure of themselves and Freshford had edged three points  in front as the half time whistle approached. Gradually however Mullinavat settled down and began to play with more composure and they finished the first half in style with two goals from Valerie Law and Ciara Holden to lead by 2-5 to 0-6 at the break.
The pressure was off now and Mullinavat began to hurl with confidence and further goals from Leanne Fennelly, Sinead Phelan and Julie Anne Malone saw them well ahead when the final whistle sounded. This was an excellent display from the entire team and the work rate of the forwards was key to a fully deserved victory. Well done to all the panel and to the team management of Jim Kinsella, trainer, Andy Aylward and Watty Phelan selectors.
