Mullinavat 4-15 St. Patrick's 4-8

Mullinavat under 16 side qualified for the semi final of the championship with a hard fought victory over St. Patrick's in an entertaining encounter in Tom Ryall Park last night. Having played with the aid of the breeze Mullinavat did not look to be in a good position at half time as they trailed by 1-7  to 0-8. However the team produced a powerful second half performance to run out deserving winners and now they advance to the semi final in the first week of September. For Mullinavat Killian Dunphy played a real captain's part as he led by example and drove forward at every opportunity. He received great assistance from Adam Mansfield at midfield while up front Jack Byrne Doyle was a constant threat to the St. Pat's defence. In the defence Sean and James Brennan hurled strongly and central defenders Damien Aylward and Thomas Delahunty were also prominent.
