posted 14 Jul 2012, 15:50 by Tom Duggan
Mullinavat intermediate team got their season back on track with an easy win over a depleted John Locke's outfit in Windgap tonight. Playing with the wind Mullinavat were quickly into their stride and led by 0-6 to 0-2 after ten minutes. John Locke's cause was not helped when they had a man sent off after eighteen minutes. From there to the end Mullinavat were firmly in control and at half time led by 0-14 to 0-3. To their credit the fourteen man Callan side battled bravely in the second half and shared the scoring honours  with seven points apiece. The final match in the league section will see much stiffer opposition from Rower Inistioge but the team can now prepare for this game in a better frame of mind following this welcome return to form.
