Mullinavat Minors earn their first point.

Mullinavat 4-14 Graigue Ballycallan 3-17

Mullinavat minors stepped up on previous efforts when they came from behind to earn a well deserved point in a high quality game against Graigue Ballycallan in Mullinavat on Tuesday. An injury time point from a free from captain John Walsh ensured that the sides finished level. Graigue Balycallan opened brightly and had a goal and a point From Billy Ryan before the home side had settled. Mullinavat gradually began to settle into the game and Liam Fennelly was proving to be a handful for the visitors. John Walsh was on target for the home side and added 0-7 to his sides tally in the first half. When the halsf time break came the visitors led by 2-8 to 0-11. Liam Fennelly scored a goal for the home side to bring the sides level but Graigue Ballycallan edged further ahead with a string of fine points. Mullinavat were forced to reshape their team when centre back Conor Duggan had to retire with a head injury. Adam Mansfield then took the game to the visitors with two excellent goals. Still it looked like the visitors were going to collect the points when they added a third goal but there was one last effort from the home side when John Walsh scored a brilliant goal to close the gap and Mullinavat got a final chance to level the game when Adam Mansfield was fouled and John Walsh showed great composure to score a difficult free from 50 metres out. This was a fine battling effort from the home side and a draw was a fair result. Jack Byrne Doyle was excellent in goal and made a number of fine saves. Damien Aylward and Conor Duggan marshalled the defence well. Killian Dunphy and Adam Mansfield were excellent in midfield while John Walsh and Liam Fennelly were outstanding in attack.
